It’s beginning to be Fall up here in the north.  The leaves changing color is a welcome sight.  This is the perfect time to sit down with a good book and a bottle of wine.  I would have to recommend Abra Ebner’s Parallel as the book to read. Yes she is  a friend of mine, but it really is a great book.  I’m not recommending it as a friend but as a reader.  This is one of the better books I have read.  To go along with this great book I would pick a Pinot Noir.  The Pinot I have my eye on is a Kosta Browne.  The Kosta Browne Sonoma just seems to flow right along with the wind that picks up here during Fall.  It just seems to be the perfect match with sitting outside on the deck reading a great new Sci-Fi Fantasy novel.  For some reason it just is the perfect pairing.  I will try this pairing and let you know how it went.

Not sure what everyone else thinks of this wine, but I wasn’t that impressed with the 05 that I had.  I really like a good Sangio but I just wasn’t impressed by this bottle.  I haven’t had it again in over a year.  I have 5 more bottles in my cellar.  I really need to try it again and see where it is.  I just thought about this wine sitting in my cellar today, after getting a release email from Long Shadows.  Just curious if anyone really likes or dislikes this wine.  I myself, would rather stick to other sangiovese.  I haven’t been to impressed with the Long Shadow wine I have tried. What is your take?

I don’t care if the wine isn’t any good this wine has it’s purpose.  It’s the first wine in this list of great wine labels.  I would probably buy a case of this wine because I would have so many opportunities to use it.  How many times are you drug somewhere you don’t want to be.  This would be a perfect gift for some people.

Not sure what wine I am going to have tonight.  What is everyone else drinking tonight?  I thougth maybe a 2001 Napa Delectus Sacrashe Vineyard Cab.  Not sure. I’m curious what others are drinking, might give me a great idea of something to pull from the cellar.

Almost pulled out a 01 Brunello but decided to go with the Delectus while watching Monday Night Football.  Delectus is one of my favorite winerys.  They are a small winery in Napa Valley that produces some really good Cabs.  They also have a good Petit Sirah.  Their flagship wine is their Cuvee Julia.

At first taste the 01 Sacrashe did not disappoint. We will see how it opens up over the next couple hours.

Abra Ebner has a new book Parallel coming out on Wednesday Sept 23rd.  I promised her I would mention it on my blog.  If you like fantasy or Sci-Fi Fantasy novels you will love this book.  I thought it was amazing.  They are having a big release at Amazon.com on the 23rd.  You should check it out.  Really is one of the better books I have read in a long time.
